Welcome to Gallagher’s of Bunratty and congratulations on your recent engagement! We know more and more couples are shying away from the traditional wedding reception, and we also know that standards are higher than ever before when it comes creating the perfect event. This is why we feel Gallagher’s is the ideal location for intimate, alternative wedding celebrations
Whether you are looking for a cosy rehearsal dinner with your close friends and family, a ‘day after’ dinner, or the wedding reception itself, Gallagher’s can create a magical evening for you and your guests, filled with good food, drink and entertainment, all under our traditionally thatched roof.
CEREMONIES IN BUNRATTY
There are a number of churches in the area that will cater for religious ceremonies, but if you are looking for a civil ceremony then we suggest the de-consecrated Kilcroney church on the grounds of picturesque Bunratty Folk Park, just a stones throw from our restaurant. We can help book this beautiful venue for your wedding, and then the grounds are free for you and your photographer to capture the happy newlyweds in this truly unique location!
WHERE MEMORIES ARE MADE
Set in the heart of the historical village of Bunratty, the restaurant is just minutes from Limerick and Shannon. The famous medieval castle of Bunratty, just a stone’s throw from the restaurant, is the perfect backdrop to your wedding photos, as is our charming thatched cottage restaurant.
Inside, our recently redecorated interior blends old-world Ireland with new: traditional currach boats hang from the ceiling while a hand woven rattan salmon features on the gable wall. Candles and fresh flowers adorn every table, while the cosy, firelit bar is filled with whiskeys, gins, stouts and more, to satisfy your discerning guests.
A TASTE SENSATION
The award winning kitchen is led by Head Chef Kieran Murphy who has created a selection of beautiful dishes worthy of a fine dining restaurant, for example:
Ham Hock Terrine, Piccalilli Vegetables, Organic Leaves and Toasted Sourdough | Slow Roast Irish Pork Belly, Crispy Croquette, Apple Relish, Sage and Mustard Sauce | Whole Grilled Seabass with an Oriental Glaze and stuffed with Ginger, Lemongrass and Chilli, and served with Saffron, Pea and Shrimp Rice | Brioche and Herb Stuffed Irish Chicken Supreme, Roast Carrots and Parsnips, Fondant Potatoes, Roast Jus
We also offer several delicious pre- and post-dinner refreshments
